Restoration was begun in October 2010 by Barry and Bunny Haycock, and their granddaughter Katelin Gumfory. They received assistance from Norman Hansen and his little red tractor. Norman is a neighbor to the cemetery who has volunteered his time and equipment in future clean ups.
We are in the process of registering the cemetery as a Utah Historical site. A list of persons buried in the cemetery can be found by going to utahcemeteries.com. We have a master plan that has been submitted to the Price River Soil Conservation District. They are submitting a proposal to provide assistance with weed control in the spring.
We have located the original family cabin built by Thomas and MaryAnn Haycock. It is our dream to regain possession of it and possibly move it onto the upper portion of the cemetery.
Unidentified graves were marked with yellow stakes.
Norman Hansen brought his chain saw and cut down wild unwanted large trees.
Barry used a grubbing hoe to remove rabbit brush, grease wood, sage brush, brush and thistle, etc. by hand around established graves where the tractor could not be used.
Brush and trees were stacked into a large pile that was later
removed with a large dump truck provided by Carbon County
Finally, the entire cemetery was drug and leveled which removed all remaining debris.
